At MoreBHP HQ in Crewe we develop and test our remaps on a state of the art 1200bhp 4WD rolling road.

By adding a rolling road session to your Stage 1, Stage 2 or ECO remap you can see what power / torque your car makes both before and after the upgrade.

Using live diagnostics this allows us to custom tune the remap to your vehicle.

M140i Stage 1 Custom Remap at MoreBHP on the Rolling Road

The B58 engine found in the BMW M140i is a credit to the engineers at BMW, but still they left plenty of room for the engine to be exploited by remapping.

It took a while for tools to be developed to allow the ECU in the M140i to be remapped so prior to that only a tuning box solution was available.

The tuning boxes did yield significant increases in power and torque but only by fooling the ECU by altering important sensor signals for boost, fuelling, etc.

The ECU now unaware of how much boost it is actually running and how much torque is really being produced means some systems cannot work correctly including the traction control and the gearbox control.  This can make power delivery too brutal, uncontrollable with rough gear changes.

When the ECU is remapped properly you can actually achieve much better results whilst running less boost thanks to the restructuring of limiters and correct calibration of fuelling and timing.

The first M140i we remapped had previously been running a tuning box and the customer described the difference between that and the remap is like that of night and day. With the remap the car has substantially more power and torque and is extremely fast due to smooth controlled delivery. This delivery is further helped by the 'torque by gear' settings we use which ramps available torque through the gears so reducing wheel spin in the lower gears. The gear changes from the auto box are now so much smoother and the car has become more of a pleasure to drive, perhaps safer too.

We recalibrate the IDrive Sports Displays in the M140i Remap

The sports displays on the I-Drive can now be recalibrated to show the new power and torque figures available. We can enhance the exhaust notes in sport mode and force the exhaust flaps to stay open. Cold start can be disabled, if required, to remove the loud start up.

We've managed to achieve 440+bhp and 650+Nm on a completely stock car with a Stage 1 Remap, many other tuners are struggling to achieve this with Stage 2.
